Goodreads Doesn't Have It, Data Migration: Angela Merkel, Europe's Most Influential Leader

This is a very good biography of Angela Merkel. A lot of things I didn't know in here. I don't understand how she could be a squatter but then attempt debt structuring. That whole part does not make sense to me. But she did what she could and is well known for her conciliatory approach. Strangely sometimes she emphasizes the fact that she thinks people will give up with just one flash of strength, which is the opposite of that. I appreciate that she recognizes she was too slow to pay when it was required and that's behind some of the crashes, but don't understand how when other people had that flaw she fails to see it is a shared flaw. But I think she did excellent work not having a precedent and given the intersections that she was working with. I have nothing but respect for her. The fact they looked to her for leadership in the EU and then tried to say that the EU had no leader, chastising her for not taking charge and then chastising her if she did sounds horrific.
