[edit] This is what I think of when I think of functioning masculinity. Listening to women, admitting problems and solving them competently. If all men were more like this it would be less of a repulsive hellscape. That said, there is misogyny and sexism in here. Women are not the glory of men, they are held to being their own glory. Also women can be leaders when the men are that unhealthy. There's a lot of sexism here that women can't be real leaders otherwise this is exactly the book a lot of people need. In fact I'd recommend it to my immediate family members for their ongoing dysfunction. It pretty much covers all of it through the lens I like, but I can't because the communication is just that broken. The world is really just this sick. Also marriage is between a man and woman, get screwed. It's in women's interests to marry each other when you can't even get a restraining order against your rapist and then he says you're gay for not being attracted to him when he's an utterly repulsive rapist and no standard of male beauty. Attractive people don't commit rape. Something is fundamentally ugly about someone who does this.
