Goodreads Doesn't Have It, Data Migration: Ending Harassment and Retaliation in the Workplace
Some of the delusions on these guys are seriously disturbing. They get some schizophrenic disturbance that so and so is doing xyz and they can't let it go despite repeated evidence. This book is good because it's clear psychopaths aren't just bad at learning, failing to learn from the exact same stimulus repeatedly, but they can also have very aggressive delusions that they can't accept are not correct despite clear and obvious evidence that they are not in fact correct. This book is psychopathy realist and that is NEEDED. They do not have the same infrastructure in their brains as someone who is not a psychopath. It is NOT the same situation at all. There is real neurology behind the kind of advice that says things like, "Don't argue with a narcissist, they don't get you" in the same way "Don't ask a psychopath to not retaliate, they don't understand retaliation, they are just have an animal-like knee jerk reaction that no cognitive approach is ever going to stop. They have a pervasive retaliation problem and no cognitive approach towards it is going to work. A more animalian behavioral approach is more likely to work with psychopaths with an ongoing retaliation issue."
Exactly. An ongoing pervasive repeated pattern of the same harassment meant to denigrate, devalue, demean, or humiliate like not stopping when someone says stop to convince someone they don't mean anything and are not worth even basically stopping (demeaning, denigrating, devaluing) is criminal harassment to the point of stalking. It is unbelievable the third world country trash bin this country is that it struggles with basic recognition of this in the most obvious cases. I truly believe this country is a third world country.
I used to back up Canada in agreeing but upon visiting they were NOT any better. They were doing the same thing. They made the EXACT same mistakes as America was making.
How hard is it to not completely flunk like a third world country trash bin when it comes to harassment.
This book is excellent and recognizes that most of these harassers are psychopaths and the psychopath brain is more like an animal than not. You have to use behavioral strategies with the psychopath brain because its completely broken prefrontal cortex infrastructure makes it resemble more of an animal than a human. You have to use behaviorism like you are training animals and you have to wait for extinction processes because psychopaths are basically animals that always retaliate and can't stop themselves. We have literal managers saying "stop me because I can't stop myself" THEN YOU ARE NOT MANAGER MATERIAL. IF YOU CANNOT EVEN MANAGE YOURSELF YOU CANNOT BE MANAGING ANYONE ELSE. Some of these psychopaths are therefore not only psychopaths but also narcissists that can accept these limits. Psychopath and narcissist, that is just tragically disgusting.
This book is truly excellent. It tells you to expect retaliation, and expect that the worst psychopaths will increase their retaliation behavior and to expect the worst of them to go pretty much batsh*t crazy in the behavioral extinction process.
Another good point they made that many of these psychopaths operate behaviorally, so basically if they got a reward from it, they will try it again and again and again to see if it will work again. Again, I put the development of this culture rotting the area from the inside out on Bill Gates. He got married from clearly a case of harassment; Melinda was clearly an employee working at his company. Her options to say no were limited. I have never seen a truly attractive person need to take such a pathway to get a spouse or partner. If you need to use coercion or force, that is not attractive energy you are using and energy that is not attractive does not last. It collapses and leaves a third world behind it.
So this top guy in the area got his spouse through harassment. Upon his divorce, it's like a rat hitting the lever that worked again and again over and over hoping it will work again this time. It's really like that. There's no intelligent reasoning or noticing of the differences in the two stimuli that would suggest more advanced intelligence. It just is seeing a relatively similar situation and doing the same and then, like the book says, when it doesn't work, doing it harder and harder hoping it will work again. These pervasive cultures of harassment and sexualization to get what they want are everywhere. They didn't get what they want the first time, so they're hitting the lever 40, 50 times, not learning. You'll see it on Reddit. You say no, you don't interact, and they're like a rat, hitting the lever 40, 50, 60 times not learning. Not changing their strategy, not stopping, not taking time to reflect or research. Just commenting, commenting, commenting hoping the person will interact like they once did again with no intelligent change in behavior. That's a real psychopath. That failure to adapt, step back, research and act intelligently after research and reflection, that commenting over and over, that's really just that rat, hitting that lever 40, 50, 60 times and then wondering why it doesn't work. It's the lack of a prefrontal cortex hard at work. It's really disturbing to see a human, who is supposed to have higher intelligence than animals, fail to learn or adapt intelligently. But that's the psychopath brain. They tend to also have very low IQ and fail to understand or recognize basic things. Their low intelligence also causes them to be unable to integrate obvious information that is contrary to their current heuristic and it also causes them to not learn from the same stimulus over and over and over. Not only that but they will take out their failure to learn on other people instead of just learning. It's really disturbing to see but it is REAL. Don't project your non-psychopathy on someone. If someone doesn't show intelligent readaption, review and research, keeps doing the same thing that worked last time over and over and over again hoping it will work again without learning, you are dealing with a psychopath. They tend to also have very low IQs. They don't learn from the same stimulus over and over. They can't integrate information not conforming to their narcissistic delusions if they are a narcissistic psychopath comorbid. It is disturbing but it is real. This book prepares you for it.
I think if you are in an area run by psychopaths with a failing transparency score you should treat it like not even having basic infrastructure because the average person having a functional prefrontal cortex is part of infrastructure. If the average person you are meeting is struggling with stopping and controlling themselves, they are a psychopath and literal animal training works better on them because of their lack of a prefrontal cortex. Animals, like cats and dogs, are also the ones that lack basic prefrontal cortex architecture where they can't stop themselves.
This book is realistic about it, prepares you for the big animal tantrum before the exinction behavior, and tells you that it isn't you, it is them. They clearly have a retaliation problem because they are psychopaths. People that aren't psychopaths and have basically functioning prefrontal cortex infrastructure do not struggle that hard with retaliation and learning from the same stimuli over and over again. I really appreciated the breath of fresh air in calling a spade a spade; they do not have the prefrontal cortex infrastructure to stop themselves, this is something they share in common with animals like dogs and cats, and they have to be trained behaviorally in that way because arguing without such infrastructure like a prefrontal cortex will not result in learning for people like this.
If there is an ongoing retaliation problem and ongoing failure to learn that retaliating for reporting is a problem, the person is a psychopath. They have to be trained behaviorally. You cannot talk to them cognitively.
