Goodreads Doesn't Have It, Data Migration: Killers of the Flower Moon

Many obvious parallels to Washington state with a hint of setting the stage for DARVO (not going to happen): "Sheriffs investigated and did nothing. State Attorneys investigated and did nothing. The Attorney General investigated and did nothing. It was only when the Government sent the Department of Justice agents into Osage county that law became a thing of majesty." What a joke...the Osage bled almost $200,000 trying to secure an investigation. The Department of Justice wouldn't have blinked an eye at these murders if they had not paid for access to the law due to their being native in a racist society. There are several pertinent quotes here; first, that it's clear the murderer, Hale, was expecting the jury to let him off easy as he was relying excessively on racism. He was deeply surprised to find himself indicted for first-degree murder. The book says that he expected people to not view him as anything other than "cruel to animals" I kid you not; he relied heavily on the ignorance and was thankfully deeply surprised to find out that was taken from him. The second is that the husband was slowly poisoning his wife and you could see it in photos. He went to bed knowing what he had done and what he knew and at the end the wife was so disgusted by him she recoiled at his name. In truth, the husband is clearly a weak and greedy man who married for money. That the book consistently relies on his wife's opinion or worries for his wife is ignorant; he clearly didn't view her as anything other than a cover-up for his disgusting, antisocial nature. He clearly used her for money and never one considered her human due to her being native. The way she was treated later shows that as well. Interestingly I have had more exposure than most to several native women married to white men, as well as literal Indian women in relationships with white men and to this day the dynamics are similar. The Osange had to buy their humanity at $200,000. The barriers to it were meticulously excessive, and the Hale character was clearly a narcissist who thought he would get away with it on the basis of racism. The third is that Hale and the like wanted something for nothing. I think it fits with the picture above. They were oil money; oil money is really easy money. It's a raw resource, barely needs any processing, and it's ready to go. The land is only as good as what it can do for them and the money it provides is huge. It attracts unsavory sorts being this "black gold" and for that reason oil has been seen as not only an environmental problem but also a huge threat to social health. I think it's true that it breeds and attracts people who have money they don't in any way know how to handle or have earned, and the fact white men were killing whole families just to have access to that money shows that.

All in all, a stage is clearly being set here but it's a no for the Justice Department which is excessively corrupt and has had more than ample chance to do something. Same with the FBI. They sit idly by. Luckily the lady Mollie got divorced before any of this low class, commoner than dirt murderous piggishness reached its final crescendo but people really are that pathetic.

Finally, I think what happens from here on out will be a great way to track the nature of cover ups especially when they involve women as well as a way to track the pathways that the movie industry tries to make money in a desperate, almost pathetic fashion. (They've been clawing for a movie of Christopher Havens here, and now suddenly it's shifting to this...just clawing and clawing for money and in the end giving away the extent of their corruption for the whole world to see.)

Lesson here: when someone says "I need a way to make money" take a look at their character and determine if the way they're going to use it (corrupting court systems and selling FBI information to Hollywood) makes that in any way true. If it's true, they don't deserve a penny. The whole trajectory and side-eye use of this book is pretty disgusting. The "helplessness" defense is complete bullshit; I've myself definitely and easily said no to things people alternatively said they were too "helpless" to stop but then in the next breath say the true cause, namely, "money matters".

It more than matters. It's their god. Sorry but I'd rather not go to such a vile church.
