Goodreads Doesn't Have It, Data Migration: Sexual Harassment Training Manual
Based on research that harassment slows everyone down, makes everyone stupid and takes millions off of productivity every year. We can't afford this kind of stupidity anymore, and I appreciate them making it clear that we can't afford this kind of gross stupidity anymore. Harassment costs everyone thousands if not millions a year. The people trying to catch up who harass people have nothing to offer but more harassment, they do not actually value their work, they value their ego. Nothing is lost in leaving people willing to throw mainly women but any of their own coworkers under the bus for their own benefit and ego behind. In fact tons of costs are recouped in cleaning this kind of energy out. This was helpful. However the recommendations are excessive and by the book. These are the type of programs that companies implement and then they don't check or they do to just check off a box and then they don't actually follow up or expediently put into action what they just put into action to check off a box. That's not the point of all this. The recommendations are computationally excessive and clearly not based on high functioning, efficient models that constantly are responsive and incorporating real feedback. Some of this is useful but it needs to be based more on high functioning models that continuously check and implement the anti-harassment feedback built inside the company.
