Goodreads Doesn't Have It, Data Migration: The Burnout Society
philosophy [edit] "Democracy is depression". Yeah no. Authoritarianism is more so insofar as one person can't do all the governance and also it lacks the internal energy to consider all factors and come up with a dialectic. One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This has his argument here covered as how they're trying to sell the end of democracy as a good thing and that it's not.
Yeah yeah, how "Bartleby" prefers not to write and therefore becomes "pure being" when they're just ripping everything off these days. It's not a profound action to not write, it's intelligent to not write when people help themselves to your content pre-publication who can't match you at all and just butcher it and make it into a horrifically bad shadow of what it could have been. Don't write about the wrong things, don't write on the wrong platforms, and especially don't write about narcissists.
Yeah yeah, content about narcissists. How they have executive disorder. Then suggesting that the answer is to get rid of democracy. Authoritarianism is the picture of narcissism. It is the picture of narcissism to think one person can do this. That said the undermining and petulance of many voices in democracy have grown too loud so that's a problem too. It's the differences between authoritarian and authoritative parenting I think .
What I will agree with is narcissists are corrupt and can't finish anything because when something is even basically sufficiently distracting in its addictiveness they forget to complete their goal and get caught up in essentially the drug they secured. Like many have noted Russia is full of addiction prone narcissists like that, and has all the clunky corruption of just the phenomenon he's mentioning.
And ipsative competition as a clear research-based way to beat narcissism is somehow deadly. Just no. This one's a flunk. Usually a big fan. This one's just an apology for authoritarianism which we all know computationally flunks and doesn't work. Nevertheless, "diversity" has just become a litany of brats undermining, negating, and breaking down everything that gives it the breathing room to speak. And yes, ungrateful, undermining petulant brattiness with a clear narcissistic mood disorder hiding it under “dissent”, as opposed to the dissenter who actually has valid points, is also a straight shot to depression and burnout just has having to do everything yourself authoritarian style is. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to help either side of that coin. They're both pretty vain and disgusting.
Negative potency was interesting otherwise I might drive it down to one star. Like I said, usually a fan, but stop attacking democracy outside of the criticism that petulant, undermining and bratty voices that don’t have any meaningful, actionable dissent, but just have a pattern of undermining from their own untreated depressive narcissism are a problem. Valid dissent is worthy, parasitic failure to get their narcissistic depression treated and just undermining as an attempt to fix their mood disorder is a no.
A weaker work by Byung-Chul Han. Riddled with plausible deniability. Just a no this time.
Authoritarianism is a straight shot to burnout, but so is a litany of brats undermining and hiding a narcissistic mood disorder in the diversity section with nothing real to say, just being brats whose dissent doesn’t carry any real actionable valuable concern, just narcissistic and trying to get attention in a narcissistic, undermining way. I agree that they also need to go in the same way as the authoritarian who thinks he knows better than even nature itself needs to go. One narcissist, a plurality of narcissists; both need to go.
I don't blame anyone for wanting nothing to do with either type of government. These days the people are more like a tumor than not, where dissent is just a shadow of what it was and doesn’t care any real actionable concern, just rips off what’s good and does it to gain narcissistic accolades. Nobody should deal with some sort of mass-brat cancer constantly undermining them, but that doesn't make authoritarianism the answer. No one person can rule unsupported. It is ironic to have a title like that and flirt even to that degree with authoritarianism.
